Under What Circumstances Can a PR Be Revoked?

Post by Strong Eagle » Thu, 04 Aug 2005 12:13 pm

Subject says it all. Certainly, I can see that if you have no job when it is time to renew, you may not get the renewal. But, what else can get your PR pulled?

Thanks.

Actually no. But your re-entry permit expires every 5 years and must be renewed if you want to leave the country without losing you PR. You can actually let it expire and as long as you don't leave singapore you're okay. Forget about it and go to Johore and you have lost your PR. Mine is currently expired for about 3 months. Had to wait until I was re-employed. (about 6 weeks ago). Just haven't gotten around to it yet. Possibly next week.

It can be revoked for almost any reason they want to concoct. You are given PR as a benefit but it is not a right. They can recind it anytime. Start badmouthing the government is a sure way to lose it.

I am a Singapore permanent resident. My re-entry permit has expired. Can I still enter Singapore as a permanent resident?
You will be treated as a normal social visitor if your re-entry permit has expired. You will be granted a social visit pass if you meet the entry requirements.
