That's what religion is here for.
Something to hold on to when the world or yourself has gone insane.
I wouldn't really blame a religion so much for anything bad that happened (except the fact it existed in the first place), but instead the people who are quick to condemn or kill in the name of religion.

Yup, religious wars are just the facade of underlying greed...
