French Movie Night @ Alliance Franciaise

Postby SCA » Sun, 31 Jul 2005 8:29 pm

Hi Everyone,

In the spirit of NC's "Newbie" gatherings, I am organising a gathering at a French Film night this Tuesday, 2nd August.

For all of you franchophiles and cinemaphiles amongst us, I have just recently discovered the weekly screening of French films at Alliance
Franciaise.

http://www.alliancefrancaise.org.sg/cinema/cinema.html

This Tuesday evening 2nd August, at 8pm, they are showing "Serial Lover"

Director: James Huth
Cast: Michèle Laroque, Albert Dupontel, Elise Tielrooy, Michel Vuillermoz
Synopsis: Her name is Claire Doste. She is beautiful. She is about to
turn 35 and she has everything going for her - a fabulous apartment, a
creative job in a publishing house specialising in crime novels, an
adorable sister, and men. Too many men. All of three, that is... but
that's two too many! She invites them all over for her birthday dinner
so that she can pick out the one man in her life. But a silly accident
happens when Claire is
getting the dinner ready...

More information about the film can be found at:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0155157

For those of you who are coming, let's meet at 7pm at the ticket box,
purchase our tickets, then eat at the cafe upstairs.

Bus Service: Bukit Timah Road & Dunearn Road
Bus No: 66, 67, 170, 171, 700, 700A, 960.

Well now that sounds good, I'd be be up for that - European cinema is the best there is of course. Got your phone number from the bulk mail :-)

And by the way, I'll join as part of the cinemaphiles, being far from a francophile. No offence, but as we say in Holland: France is an adorable country, too bad the French live there
Although the chance of rain on that day was bigger than forecasted, the chance was still not that big that it did in fact rain, that day.

Don't we put it like: "Frankrijk is een mooi land, alleen jammer dat er Fransen wonen."?

I am interested too though, will drop a pm.

I don't know, stefania... however, as the Frenchs are very proud of their land, culture, and language, I doubt it...

just kidding, I think that there are subtitles (otherwise they wouldn't have many visitors)...
