Apartment rental costs

Post by lobey » Fri, 29 Jul 2005 5:07 pm

How much would a typical 1 bedroom appartment cost to rent a month? Although it varies on location, what is the general average price?

If anyone has any apartments they have for rent also, please do leave a message about your appartment.

Thankyou for your time.

Like you said, it depends on location.

For HDB's (govt housing), a 1 bedroom starts at $500 and can go up to $750.

For private housing, this is a little harder to determine. Many buildings do not have studios/1 Bedrooms, and those that do are often in the more expensive districts. Roughly, I would say that 1 bedrooms would cost from $1000 to $2000, depending on location.

In 2 months time, I'll be relocating from Philippines to Singapore and will work near Shenton Way, Districtt 1. Since I don't have a single idea where to look for cheap apartments, would appreciate (for those with experiece) for any suggestions where to start looking.

Also, apologize for my ignorance but what does PUB stands for?

thanks sir, just wondering what's the average terms of payment if I were to rent an apartment?

Do I need to deposit two months in advance or so or just a monthly payment will do? :?:

The minimum lease term is one year.

For a one year lease, the deposit is one month deposit + one month rent in advance.

As for a two years' lease, the deposit is two months deposit + one month rent in advance.

thanks sir for the reply. Now, I have another question... Two months from now, i'll be coming in over to singapore to work as an expat. Just curious how much money should I bring in order to support myself for the 1st month of my stay.

I'm trying to raise some funds right now and I just don't know the what sufficient amount in SGD should I raise.

I'll be working in shenton way and what type of housing should i get? would renting a common room or master bedroom will do since it's more cheaper?

apprecaite feedback. thanks a lot.

regards,

ric
