Social Visit Pass Extension

Post by Joyful12 » Tue, 26 Jul 2005 11:58 pm

Anyone has encountered problem when they submitted the social visit pass extension? For example: the result was that you leave Singapore in 3 days..

What do you think is better between to go to the Immigration for the social visit pass extension or just go in and out Singapore every 2 weeks or 1 month when the social visit pass expired?

Appreciate comment.

tks

Hi Joyful12, I believe we had replied to each other postings on this particular subject before. Anyway, my European boyfriend had recently got his social visit pass extended to another month. Upon arrival, he was a little bit under the scrutiny of the Immigration Officer at the checkpoint (Changi Inter'l airport) as we had put 90 days on the embarkment card. Visitors to SG would only get 30 days social visit visa stamp. We then went to the ICA building (next to Lavender MRT) to extend his visa. The queue was exceptionally long but it was worth it. His extension of visa is free-of-charge. The procedure was like this: go to level 4, take an original Form, fill it in, take a queue number, go to a counter and submit your documents. You would then be requested to come 3 days later to collect your passport and possibly the visa extension.

Hope this helps!

Yes, we put 'seeking employment' on the form. With reference to the above 'guest's' indication that he/she had to pay for the extension visa, I would like to ask the latter what sort of pass/visa and how many extended months did he/she seek? We didn't have to pay at all for ours as we were only asking for an additional 2 months social visit pass. I could be mistaken, but I think an applicant would only have to pay when the extension of visa seeked is more than 3 months.

Hi there,

Am I glad somebody put this post up! Anyways, do you need a sponsor or something? What kind of documents are you supposed to bring with you during the application?

Joyful, how much did you pay?

Do the immigration officers give you a hard time?

Thanks for answering!!!
Think of the solution; not the problem.

Zorysia,

yes, we are trying for the 2 months extension only, coz my bf is not eligible for the long term social visit pass at this moment. Thanks for the info.

Kansah,
about your queries, we have not gone to the Immigration yet, but planning to go next week. I don't think the Immigration officer will give me a hard time but dont worry I will tell you later after I submitted the application. ok?

Yes you need a Singaporean/ Singapore PR as sponsor on your extension. You may download the Social Visit pass extension form 14 and Form V39 from the site below :

http://app.ica.gov.sg/serv_visitor/soci ... it_app.asp).
Bring together your original and photocopy of degree/diploma. Also not forgetting the sponsor identity card and photocopy of the identity card.
