Media jobs – let's be realistic

Postby Cityboy » Mon, 25 Jul 2005 10:35 pm

I am a young, senior magazine editor who is relocating to Singapore in the New Year (January most likely) and I want to know what the job market is really like. I am British and currently work in another expat-friendly country. This isn't speculative, I will be moving, so may also need to know what the freelance situation is like to tide me over until i find something permanent. Any advice would be appreciated, my background is in newspapers and lifestyle magazines mainly, as well as television and some radio. Thanks[/i]

I would recommend freelancing to foriegn publications rather than local ones as the pay is low.

Financial news always has openings - try Bloomberg or Dow Jones.
