If you ask me? Over prices! Unfortunetly now a days, they are so called "Health clubs". Years ago they used to be called "gym", then "fitness clubs" and soon "Social clubs". I mean dont get wrong there is a lot of good ones, but I think you can spend much less money and obtain more results. Depending on your needs! If you just want to work out and meet people, then it is fine, Cali has more attractive prices, but I have been told Planet fitness has a better athmosphere. As for private gyms, I would recommend Sculptures Bodies in Meridien Hotel, on Orchad. Not sure about the price but at least they pro's!riversandlakes wrote:e.g. Fitness First or California Gym, etc?
Hi, i came across ur post..coincidentally, im intending to transfer my california fitness membership to anyone who is interested. I joined 1mth ago and bcos of some other commitments, im not able to continue the membership. I've already paid the start up + 3mths membersip fees of $400. My mthly fee is only $79. If u r interested to take over, u only nid to pay the mthly fees of the $79 for 9mths instead of 12mths. u interested to find out more, do email me at [email protected] to hear a reply frm u soon...riversandlakes wrote:Since I posted that, I've since (kinda) understood the reality of these big fitness centers in Singapore.
First off, they're all STUPIDLY located downtown CBD! From the map one branch seemed like walking distance from the other!
Second, horrifying joining fees of $500-700! That can sustain my creatine and protein supplement for six (6) months!
And the monthly fees of $100-150 is just crap :/
I'm joining SSC gyms.

What is the yearly fee (if there's such a thing) after the nine months?
