Hi! i was wondreing what kind of exercises help me to slim down on my butt and thighs? Even though i had never been overweight, i have extremely huge butt and thighs. As a teenager, it kinda make me lose self-confidence when i see other girls wearing nice outfits that i can't wear without revealing my thigh and butt. I've tried skipping ropes, cycling, sit ups. What should i do?

I also have big thigh & butt...if i want to loose those I have to work 3times harder than other parts of my body...

Hello, to answer your question, exercises that target the thigh and butt area include squats and lunges. There are other exercises eg push-ups, stability exercises etc which if done properly, also simultaneously work on the quads (thigh muscles) and glutes (butt muscles). In terms of cardio workouts, I find swimming excellent. If you have access to a gym, then working out on the cardio machines eg steppers, cross-trainers or ellipticals are great too. Try out spinning classes. It's a good idea to vary your exercise routine so (1) you won't get bored/lazy and (2) your body will appreciate the new challenge. However the take-home message is, your thighs and butt area will naturally slim down once you achieve general weight loss. Don't give up!
