Yes, good idea. Thanks - Many people have been asking me about rice for Paella: Here is the big difference:

The rice should be medium grain. Spanish rice is rounded and short; it absorbs liquid very well, and it stays relatively firm during cooking. Those qualities make it ideal for paella, where the rice grains absorb flavor from the liquid; the rice should be dry and separate when done, not creamy like risotto. The most appreciated variety of Spanish rice is bomba, but you'll also have success with the widely available medium-grain rice sold by Goya. Arborio is an acceptable substitute; long-grain rices, however, are not.
Thanks for getting back to me.

Hi, i posted this in another thread but thought this would do great here too. I have friends very interested in making paella and would certainly greatly appreciate your help. Movingabout, if you could email me, that would be excellent. You seem to know a lot and just the person I would like to know - to help me in making paella :) Others, if interested, please email me too. Thanks

Hi, a group of people (Singaporeans and Spanish) who are interested in spanish language and culture...etc, some of whom speak spanish, recently met up in a spanish meetup. We have planned some further meetings and invite other Singaporeans or foreigners who are interested in Spanish to join us.

This Saturday (30th of July), we're organizing a small gathering at my place to cook paella. We have a spanish with us and others who are interested in making paella and just getting to know each other. We're all friendly people and just gotten to know each other only last week. So if you're interested to get to know others who are interested in spanish and also interested to make paella (no guarantee it will be good at all!), please email me at [email protected]

We do have a chalet planned for the 6th of August night at Pulau Ubin. Again, if interested, just email me. Thanks,

Social Justice
