I'm an American looking for a job here in Singapore as a welding engineer. I have a Bachelor's in Welding Engineering from Ohio State University in the U.S. and have 2 years work experience as an engineer.
However, for the past 5 years I've been enjoying life by teaching English which funded my many excursions around Asia. I've played enough and have decided to continue on with my career as an engineer.
In case your wondering what a welding engineer is it's basically a combination of metallurgical, industrial, electrical, and mechanical engineering. It's a very specific field that is involved in about every industry, however people don't know it exists. I focused on processes like: friciton welding, laser welding, arc welding, etc., and materials like: titanium, stainless steel, nickel, steel.
Am I being realistic in thinking that I can a find a job singapore? And if so what is the best way to find a job? I've been looking but can't find any postings that I qualify for.
