Hi,
I have been in Singapore for four weeks now. My daughter is due to start Tanglin School in September 2005. She will be going into year 2. Are there any parents who also have children due to start at Tanglin into year 2 in September? If so please contact me via this forum. I also have a fourteen month old son and would like to meet other young mums. Thanks

If you are sending your kids to Tanglin...you have got to be so far up your own arse(or your husbands) it is unheard of!!!!!!
Let your kids enjoy the culture that is here. If you want them to be uptight English kids ...then go ahead.
Look at the other schools..CIS is very good, so is the Australian International.
Tanglin is the same as sending your kid ti boarding school... you won't have anything to talk about for 30+ years...I know I did that already

Fluff, it's not that dark up here after all is it?
Dear OP please ignore the above...there are at least 1,000 of us up here so it is not unheard of at all!
I don't want to get into an argument of how international the school is or isn't (although the alternatives Fluff give are not necessarily that much more)....but a true global citizen would understand that people make choices for all different reasons and respect that. I took a look at your previous posts and they do not indicate any previous expertise on this subject...
OP have you tried postage "old fashioned" notices on the notice boards at the international clubs here (yes, specifically the British Club...cue laughter!). I know this has worked in the past.

I cannot believe some people have such arrogant views! With a sign in name like fluff I would like to know who's arse you have been up? I am tough enough to take your comments on the chin but have you no consideration for people who have given up everything to join their husbands in a new adventure who maybe feeling a little lonely. This journey is difficult enough without pig headed morans like yourself leaving comments like the one you left. You could of given the same information but put in a more adult manner. Maybe you should of been educated at Tanglin - your views on life may be be so Biggotted!

Racist parents always want their children to be racists. Where best to learn and preserve these attitudes then....?????

To the original poster....I apologise..my comments were out of order and I am sorry if they upset you. I just got a bit wound up about Tanglin...not your fault and again I apologise.
I hope you and your family enjoy your stay in Singapore.

Hi,
I am looking to get admissions for my daughter in the same grade in Tanglin. Currently she is OFS though.
Just wanted to find out some details about the system at Tanglin - The website had me a bit confused with their 6 stages. I am not sure how this compares with the other schools in terms of grades. So does Year 2 mean grade 2 in other schools ? what is your daughters date of birth ? I also have a son who is 2 yrs and I will be looking at schools for him too.
happy to talk
Ranjeet
