Buy and Sell

Post by CSP » Fri, 08 Jul 2005 11:23 pm

To all Bros and Sis.
Let said if i find something very interesting and would like to sell it. How should go about it?
where can i Or how can i get the manufacturer/producer to sell it to me? i always believe BUY low and SELL high. But in singapore, many so call wholesaler are selling their product at very high price.
For example: From producer to wholesaler to retailer to consumer.
Some even worst, from retailer to retailer to consumer. Always the man before the consumer earn nothing or make no much profit from the product sold. Ended up in not able to pay their overhead.

Any Bros and Sis here can give an advise....

Thanks A Lots

It appears that everyone in Singapore is greedy, especially when dealing with foreign nationals, but the problem eventually backfires. More and more foregin nationals import themselves, It is the only way, when you have a greedy race of people that believe they are clever, what they are actually doing is losing trade, eventually nobody buys from them, like the above poster.

You must contact importers not wholesalers. pm me if you need some goods

Hi Thank you for your contact, could you possibly PM me, with a little more information about who you are., and I will contact you. It's not the best thing to advertise numbers on this kind of forum.

Hi CSP,

seems like u are lost....

Do u have any thing in your mind that u want to do or sell?? if u got any product that u want and design on your own, then u can go and find manufacturer, but it's a hard time, cos u have to find the good manufacturer and good price is very difficult. need to compare here and there.. and if oversea, u have to include the transports, currency exchange, rate, manpower, etc...

Do think... what u want to do, where u want to sell, How much u can earn end of the day etc...might have more then what i wrote..

Just my 2 cents..

Currently i goin to open a western food stall located in singapore coffee shop. A MUST
At the mean time if there is a good product/service which is in demand, eg(a hole is in demand, then a drill is use to drill the hole. Then a drill is a must product for the drillin process.) Just example.
Jus tryin to keep my eye open to see what is in demand in ppl life, or even pets life. Hope the new or old product/service give humans a more better livin or wat loh.
PPL don think idea, idea come by itself when things happened.

for example during the SARS outbreak
some of the pest controller got an NEW idea of buyin in new machine that help them to kill germs. Their business skyrocket.
So what i tryin to say is that just open eye and see what is in demand. Be it service or product, is the same. no service cannot give product and no product cannot give service. Or i can say that the service is also a product that solve ppls problems.

Jus my 2 cents thought

But 4 me, sellin western is the main thing that i goin to do now. unless i see opportunity.

There is indeed a 1001 ideas that could take off in Singapore.

Your observations are not really enough, to prove any feasibility of launching a product or service, it's a little more complicated than that. If you do not do your research correctly, you are liable to lose what money you invested.

There is a great potential in Singapore for many products, but if you do not have a knowledge of the basics of business, then I'm afraid you will make many mistakes, and mistakes cost money.

What is your background experience if you don't mind me asking?

Are you presently employed or doing any small business?

Let me give you an example from the Food Exhibition at Bedok on the 18/19th of June.

Drinking vinegar is a 3500 yr old tradition, there is scientific evidence, that it does work. In two days 166 bottles were sold, that is 83 per day.
Now think to yourself, what are we selling and why does it sell.

We are not only selling vinegar but we are selling healthy lifestyle.

why do people drink coke, because they like the taste right! But many also know that phosphoric acid is very bad for your bones, it actually disolves the calcium, in your bones and teeth.

Healthy lifestyle is the fashion of today, that is why you are seeing more gyms opening up, people care about health.

Special Sorghum fruit Vinegars are actually brewed for drinking, the taste is not very sour, because of the fruit fructos, the natural sugars used.

If your not convinced, why not try some yourself! asian drinks in NTUC, make sure it is served with ice.

Agreed with KSL, $15,000 is quite alot if u use it wisely.. or else $30,000 also not enough for u. U must see what u are strongly at, your strong point, not blindly following one another.

Since u are opening a western food stall located in singapore coffee shop, concentrate in what u are doing, when u earn profit, then u can use that amt to do other things.

Are you tryin to sell me the way of healthy lifestyle?

Just like buying a handphone is not just for the hp, PPl but commucation.
PPl don buy TV because they Like TV, they buy entertainment.

PPl don only buy vinegar drink just for a drink, but buy and drink it also because it enhance health.

I don think it is a FASHION of today.
PPl are just getting health cousious nowaday.
Human life span is gettin shorter and shorter due to stress, air polution and many many reasons.

I agree with Ksl that not knowin the basics of business, will make mistakes easily which cost money.

Not only it will cost money, it will cost TIME(part of your life) which money is not able to buy.
