I am going to work on wednesday with the company applying a work permit for me which they say will be approve on monday. For your information i am a malaysian who just graduate from poly. I had receive a letter which is a form for me to apply pr. My question here is is it that for my case i also need to apply for a work permit since i thought i am eligible for pr? The company hr told me that i can only apply after 6 months. Is it true? i need to verify. Thanks in advance

". I had receive a letter which is a form for me to apply pr." Wow who are you? Are you related to the family of the Lee's?? It's better to apply PR only after you work for the company more than 1 year..and the PR approval depends on the economy.

From my past experience, you will have to be working in Singapore and residing in Singapore before you can apply for PR. So to work in Singapore, first you will need a working permit or a professional pass. So I think your HR is going about the right way. All the best.
