I attended today's interview @ 145opm. There were supposed to be 30 of us, but some din turn up. The oldest in the group is 35 yrs old; there are some who were ex-cabin crew (SQ, Emirates, JAL). Some are even mothers!

1st round was an intro of ourselves, why we wana join Jetstar etc etc. Then we were separated into 3 groups for role play. We were told of the shortlisted candidates to Round 2 on the spot. 10 of us got into 2nd round.

3rd round, theres a case studies test, followed by 5-10min interview with the HR exec. Usual questions asked would be

1) Why u wana join Jetstar?
2)If u mention u like to travel, she'll tell u that Jetstar does only turnaround flights.
3) Do u mind the low pay?

Btw, the basic is $710, This salary covers the 100 working hrs that u work. If u work more than 100 hrs, the remaining hrs would be $15/hr. Lets say if u work exceeding 50hrs, u'll get an extra allowances of $750. Therefore ur total pay would b $750 + $710 = $ 1460 (excluding cpf). Of course the interviewer mentioned that there are crew who clocks 200hrs. (btw MOM law states that the working hrs per week is 44hrs; anything beyond that would be OT).

Benefits include 30 days annual leave. There will be no bonus at all. Crew can work a 3-day pattern and rest 1 day; or 4-day pattern and rest 2 days. The bond is 12mths (excluding 6-week training; abt 4 days in HKG for aircraft training). If one breaks the bond it'll be $5K. After probation, basic pay will be $810.

During my interview, i was asked abt the pay. I told the interviewer frankly that the low pay will be one of the negative factor for me. because I've many commitments/ bills to pay, and its really a drastic cut on my current salary. So i guess thats why i was not shortlisted for the 3rd round on 2 Sept. Only 4 gals were shortlisted.

So thats all abt the interview. To those who'll be going tomorrow and Wed... all the best! :)
Hi Bubblegum

Hi Guest,

we were seated in a big circle. Just stand up and intro urself will do. As for why u wana join Jetstar, well... i guess only u urself know the reason rite? :) One tip for those who really really wana get in... whatever questions they ask u, remember to give a POSITIVE answer (ie. in favour of Jetstar to recruit u). For the group discussion and role play, just be urself...DUN over talk or keep too quiet...as long as u participate there shouldnt be any prob..

The whole interview abt 3hrs+...better to give urself 4hrs.... But of course if u're not shortlisted for the 2nd round, u should be out in 2hrs time....

Yah some crew worked 200 hours but she didnt mention how tired they get. When I was there, working 150 hours was already very tiring, coz of the long hours per day, pressure of the cabin etc. There was a guy who really tried working 180-200hour per month. After 3 months, he said he couldnt take it anymore, n he felt burnt out.

Don't forget they have kulkatta flight now. Very difficult to deal with the Indians, and its not like SQ when they get Indian flight maybe only a few times a year. In Jetstar, you can get it few times a month!

I left recently. There are no buses to pick you up. You go by public transport. If u want to go by taxi, you pay for it yourself. There is no reimbursement. Unless the flight time is before 7am, then the company will arrange taxi to pick you up. And for flights that touch down before 11pm (even 10.55pm) there will be no taxi for you. You still have to rush to change and take your own transport back. After 11, the company will arrange for taxi, and you have to share with others to save cost for company.

Yes you get your own luggage, but there's basically nothing much for you to bring coz you only do turnaround flights. Its just on loan to you, so when you resign, you got to return everything. Experience-wise... the majority of the crew are fun to fly with, but the team leaders suck, so I felt very stressed working there, like I have to be on the lookout for them all the time. My team leader kept picking on me for little things that everyone was doing. I hated that.

As for male crew, there are quite a number... maybe about 30% of the crew? Unless more left by now. Most of them are older crew from other airline.

Hi Guest,

Ya, did you left after the bond period or during? I know that it is a diminishing bond, which means the amount will get lesser with every month you serve. Where are you now?
