Tips on getting a job in Singapore

Postby Todd » Thu, 23 Jun 2005 7:03 pm

I'm a 31 year old Norwegian planning to settle in Singapore for a couple of years.

I have 2 bachelor degrees, 1 in law and political science and one in marketing as well as a MSc in International Business.

My work experience is mainly within B2B sales.

Any one have any tips on how to get a job in Singapore and which companies usually hire?

Work hard with any connections you may have here. Your skillset is not unique, sorry to say, so no company will hire you for that alone. Ideally, you could contact Norwegian companies like Stolt-Nielsen about getting work in their office here.

What kind of jobs or position are you looking for? Have you been to Singapore?

You can try
there are alot of job sites under the employment link.

You can also check the classified ads every saturday on the straits time if you are in Singapore, there are usually alot of jobs listed there.

Good luck with the search and if you have questions, don't be afraid to ask!
