Considering Australian Int School, is EC condusive to live?

Post by JS » Thu, 23 Jun 2005 2:24 pm

Hi I am considering Australian Int School for my 6 year old. Wondering where do Australia parents sending kids to AIS generally live - near the school ? Which condo's or would East Coast be workable - Waterside/Ocean Park area.

Look forward to views.

Don't think you should stay at East Coast area, cos' that's pretty far away from the AIS.
If you want to stay near the school, then it's better to stay around Ang Mo Kio, Yio Chu Kang area or anywhere in the North or North-east region cos' AIS is located in North East area.

We live at Kew Green on Upper East Coast Road. I am aware that there are two students who attend AIS, but they are older students. The AIS bus stops out front to pick them up at about 0730, haven't noticed what time they return. It would be a fair distance. Use the suggestions the previous poster suggested.

East coast area is quite far from AIS. It took us about 30 min by private car to travel from EC to AIS area.

Check out Binjai Crest on Swiss club area. It's closer to AIS and great environment for kids. This is just one suggestion.

This advice might be a bit late but.......Many families from AIS live at east coast, but the others are right-it is a fair distance. We live near Novena and a taxi ride to school take approx 10 mins and bus collects my child at 7:50 am. Also around Holland or Farrer Rd is easy access to school. Be aware that if you live near the school (such as Ang Mo Kio) there are not a great number of facilities around (good shopping, restaurants etc()

Stick to the Central or west side:

Bukit Timah, Newton, Upper Serangoon, Holland, Farrer Road

Bukit Timah and Holland are pretty far from the AIS, I would suggest Serangoon Gardens or somewhere in Novena.
