Where can i find a decent hair cutting shop in the orchard road area? Nothing fancy just a normal decent hair cutting shop. What would be the approximate cost?

Thanks.

There are only about two million hair cutting shops in Far East Plaza, Scotts Road at Orchard. Mostly, they are on the third and fourth floors, if I remember. I've used a shop there but now get my hair cut down town. It's hard to tell how to choose... I leave out the disco and head banger types and opt for the more conservative shops... maybe the most curvaceous cutter? Expect to pay $26 to $28 in the Orchard area.

Most cheap in heartland, like Yushin 8-10$, or try in JB "HollidayPlaza" - 5$

I always go to a hairsalon on 2nd floor at Meritus Mandarin Hotel, next to mezzanine bar on 2nd floor. Great service, good quality (ask bintan bliss people for comments on quality though...), pay 45 Sing.

As a matter of interest - does one tip in Singapore for personal services such as haircutting?

No, tipping is not a must, but if you like job done & wish to reward them, just do it.
