Teaching

If you are planning to teach in music schools, having a diploma definitely help earn more money because music schools takes commission out of every student you teach. Ususally with a Grade 8 practical and grade 5 theory, (Christofori Music School) will only give you 40%. Let say if you earn $1000 for the school, you'll only get 400.
50% if you get both grade 8 in practical and theory and maybe diploma, you'll be able to bargain for 60% or more.
Teaching higher grades is based on each teacher's comfort level in teaching and as far as i know, most schools don't go by your qualifications.
