Trendy places to live in Singapore & how much?

Folks, what are the trendy places to live in Singapore and typically how much would a 2 bedroom modern apartment set you back in rent per month?

I'd recommend The Istana, right on Orchard Rd. Luxuriously appointed -- what other condo in Singapore has its own private golf course? -- and the location is as central as it gets. Quite difficult to get in though, but I hear they're looking for one new tenant right now...

Today in the papers though: The Lincoln Modern condo at Newton has won a prestigious RIBA worldwide award for its architectural design, so maybe that's the one to look at? price is around $1,100 psf, so let's say a 2 bedroom appartment is around 1,000 sqf? $1,1 million that is, should be ok right?
