somebody please help. thanks!
Dear Emiko:
It has been some time after your 1st posting in regards to the above quote and I hope some my little knowledge could help a little, if not all, you and anyone whom is deperating (similarly to me) for a japanese cellphone to be used in Singapore.
There are TWO major concerns

before you decide on bringing back any japanese cellphone model for local use:
(i) Unlockable SIM Card-Based (preferably to unlock it in Japan) eg. Some NTT DoCoMo FOMA and Vadafone Japan 3G;
(ii) Compatable to GSM Network (the most killing criteria) eg. Some KDDI au with Global Expert, roam-ready NTT DoCoMo and Vadafone Japan 3G.
After filtering all the latest and available japanese cellphones with above two basis, it's sorry to tell not many models (particularly those with fanstatic features) leave in our purchase list.
Enclosed some of the latest recommended models (in fact, too little to choose for

) which "protentially" to be used in Singapore.
(IMPORTANT: pls to consult with the Sale / Service Providers in Japan and specify clerarly to use it in SINGAPORE before any transaction takes place)
Check on the attached links for those offered by the THREE telcom giants

in the land of rising sun.
(i) NTT DoCoMo:

(ii) KDDI "au":

(iii) Vodafone Japan, formerly J-Phone (Except for 802N, 703Nand 905SH):

Hope it helps....
Thanks.
