On DP from india, job chances?

My wife will be in Singapore in August - joining an IT co. on EP. I am getting a DP but want to know what are my chances of getting a decent break there?

I am a marketing manager in a major telco in india, doing fairly well. have an indian MBA degree also. total work exp of approx. 6 years. anyone have an idea of how easy/difficult it is for a MBA marketing person from india with a DP to get a job there? and any co.s you know that do recruit my kinda profile?

Well, my hubby is the same boat too. I came here on EP and my hubby on DP over a year ago from India. My hubby is in a completely different field from yours. He's been looking out for a job here, but still unsuccessful. So, he's now studying.

The fact of the matter is that here job preferences go to locals first and then to Permanent Residents and foreigners are last on their list. Employers have to justify hiring a foreigner to the Govt...hence they would rather wait for a local to come by and keep a position vacant.

Though you could also be lucky and get a job quickly, but be prepared to wait for atleast 6 - 8 months before you to get something.

do what..cum here ..and do a short course ,,but from what i know if u get here on dependant pass thts good,,but to make ur chances btr of gtg a job here... do a short course...then maybe u stand to get a job..

i don't want to sound negative but the truth is it's very difficult to get a job on DP. i've been trying for 6 months but no result.
i get very frustrated when people call on phone to fix interview but once they get to know i'm not a PR/Singaporean they don't want to talk further.
i'm also thinking to join a course and not waste anymore time hunting for a job.
if u do find a job consider urself lucky.

iffy, i think u are pretty well qualified. since u are moving in august, get in touch with some head hunters now itself and get a feel of the job market in singapore.

well u try ..but I can tell you my opinion. Most of the marketing jobs are for locals and I dont think any company would want to hire a foreigner unless your profile is somewhat awesome in the international market.
