Wow, thats a very difficult question to answer. Firstly, You must categorise yourself in a few options.

1) Gamer
2) Movie watcher
3) Graphic editing
4) Purely office processing
5) Bit of everything

What's your type of usage? ???

was having issues with my computer (which is an HP laptop running Vista, by the way), so I did a system recovery back to factory default. Now, after it shows the little "Welcome" with the vista background, it thens shows a black screen, with a popup that says."Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation." Does this mean I need to install windows all over again? What do I do?
I need help, ASAP. I need this computer to do homework on.

NB: I am a spammer and can't you see I dredged up a 6 year old thread! :P

If you have a dos command promt, try looking for the D drive, Operating System HP recovery files, or use the hp recovery disk

Nice but also out of date these days, Icute is smart, your hardisk is an old 5400 and the processor well, you will have to replace the motherboard, not nearly enough ram either, how much do you want for it? But good enough for the old games.

Check out Tom's hardware for the fastest spec for gamers'
