As a Singaporean, I'm interested to know what do you expats find that are unique in Singapore. What do u buy back to your home countries to show your friends that u have been to Singapore?

I always have this problem when I visit other countries...
Useful webby for expats: Blog of nice things you can find in Singapore costing below $2. Updated very regularly.

That coffee table pictorial book that they sell at the Raffles is nice, but expensive.

Batik shirts or fabric.

The "it's a fine city" T-shirts. Tacky, but in a cool way.

Aside from "Fine" T-shirts and pastel pink Merlion-shaped soap dispensers, there's preciously little that is "uniquely" Singaporean. I usually bring back carefully selected fresh tropical fruit, most everybody appreciates it and it's the one thing that neither money nor love will get you when the nearest tropics are 6 weeks away by boat...
