I rented an apartment with a friend, but the agent wouldn't allow two names on lease. I'm now relocating and need to get my roommate's name on the lease for legal reasons (i.e. in case he burns down the place in my absence! Just kidding). Our landlord is fine with this change, but we hear we need to make it official. Does anyone know how we do this, how much it costs, etc.? Our landlord doesn't know.
Do we need to make an appointment with the tax board, or redo the whole contract? I'm clueless...but I need help asap because I'm moving next week!
