I want to order goods online and have them delivered to Singapore - how is it with customs clearance? Do I pay GST?

I think there should not be any tax and so long as it isn't illegal it'll pass the customs. I order several books and novelty items from abroad before and it came through without any problems.
Useful webby for expats: Blog of nice things you can find in Singapore costing below $2. Updated very regularly.

I've ordered nutiotional supplements from the US without any hassle.

You can import up to S$400 worth of merchandise (alcohol and tobacco excluded) in a package and not be liable for GST.
