Over 40, closer to 50--what to do??

Post by Matney » Fri, 20 May 2005 1:39 pm

Just wondering...what do older expats like ourselves do for fun around here? Our children are old enough to be left at home, but what can hubby & I do for fun? We're not be drinkers, enjoy the occasional movie, but as we are new, haven't made any friends except a few in the condo. Suggestions needed please! 8)

Thanks!

wow you have time for fun, my Mrs works 6 days a week until 8 pm, the best we can manage is a meal across at the hawker centre, then sleep, boring, couldn't agree more!

There is actually plenty to do, if you look around, it's probably best to get to know the local scene, ex pats normally don't, but believe they do. Quite funny really.

head down to Sentosa or Pulau Ubin... or the numerous big bookstores or national or regional libraries.

Hello friend,

The best place to hang out would be church on Sunday and Wed and Sunday nights and other evenings, as events allowed.

Try International Baptist Church on King's Road, at 9 for Sunday School and 11 for worship service. Over 1000 adults regularly attend there and having the best time!

A great place, too, to meet wonderful people, make friends, and have a wonderful support group in times of need.
