Unlock Siemens SL55

I purchased so call unlocked tri band phone in NY. Is it possible to just bring them and use it in singapore? I think it is triband...don't know what is locked or unlocked means..

Locked = limited to one carrier only - phone can be unlocked if you know the right codes.

Unlocked = obviously from above means that you should be able to use it with any carrier.

Tri-band = normally means works on three different GSM frequencies - if this is the case and I believe it is with this phone then it should work fine in Singapore.

yes it should work, I have just returned with a phone which i purchased on a car boot, because i sold my Singapore phone for a nice profit, and needed a cheap phone, anyway it was locked in UK, but on my return it works fine, traded in for new phone
