I took my teens this afternoon to see Coach Carter, rated PG. We all enjoyed the movie, although a bit longer than usual, 2 1/2 hours. I'm wondering how does the government come up with the ratings for the movies? I thought this movie should have been more than a PG as there were a few words (nothing more than the kids hear at school), but some of the subject matter: teenage pregnancy, abortion, and selling of drugs, made me wonder why it wasn't NC16. Any ideas on this?
FYI--The subject matter didn't bother my children (12 & 14), So I guess I'm the one with the problem. 8)
