When you took those shots, did you set the function to Macro that is with the flower icon? If yes, upon pressing the button, did you depress the button halfway thru to let the cam do the autofocus adjustment? If yes, you need to adjust your distant btw your lens & the object. All cams have a certain effective range of clear focus, if you are too close to the object the shots will appear blur regardless how many times you do the autofocusing.

Another thing is does the environment lighting is not bright enough, Canon have this problem when taking photos indoor. You need the assistance of the flash inorder to get clear pics.

Last but not least, your hands might be shaking or moving when you make those shots. Try holding your breath when you taking the shot, this helps to reduce unnecessary shakes.

Sonus,

I did turn on the macro (flower icon) when i take close-ups. There will be a square box in the screen to focus but when I snap, the image is blur! And I don't know why, I've not had this sort of problem with SONY Mavica. I am thinking of reparing SONY mavica, does anyone repair it..don't know it SONY does...I prefer MAVICA anytime.
