Looking for jobs in singapore?

Post by josephnzm » Thu, 09 Jul 2009 12:50 pm

if you are a young graduate with a degree in arts/humanities, chances are that its extremely hard to find a job in singapore. only sectors such as biomedical, science, enginering, finance will there be potential vacancies for overseas graduates.

one of the best options is teaching english especially if you are a native english speaker. I have recommended friends to take a TESOL, (qualification to teach english) so that they can stay and work in singapore with a decent pay above 2500 singapore dollars (about 1800 USD), or even work in the region (SE Asia, China etc.)

if you need the contacts, feel free to reply to this post. (signing up for an account here takes 10 seconds literally)

good luck.

Worse still, the poster thinks 1800 USD is a good salary. I guess if you still lived with your parents it would be.

Yes, but are they renting their own homes? Or are they renting a room somewhere in a HDB flat? If they are married, are both working? If so, then the household income would be substantially more than 2500/mo wouldn't it. I daresay, it would be rough going to maintain on that salary here and having to rent your own apartment.

Your welcome.

If you rent a house in HDB, it should be affordable at 4-500 bucks a room isnt it?
