How to move out before rental expired?

Post by how to? » Fri, 22 Apr 2005 1:58 pm

Hello...PPL..

Would you please help me what to do with my rental??
I have lived this place for a year and half now since I came to Singapore. At that time I had no idea where I was living, then had renewed my rental 3 months ago.
But I really want to move to other place. Is there any way I can handle this ? What is it like to deal with rental here in Singapore moving out before the date of the contract expired? Any advice?

Regards, Curious gal...

You may wish to speak to your Landlord whether if you could find a 'replacement' tenant to take over your lease.

Most Landlords are open to the idea.

I dont think the landlord will agree to the idea, because teh rental market been flat lately. So if he let u off n rent to others, he has to pay the agent fee again, and expose to the transition period. Basiacally, early break is ok if you leaving the country (diplomatic clause).
Another suggestion is to get other friend to take over teh apartment.
