HK vs Sing for mum and bub

Post by Guest » Thu, 21 Apr 2005 10:24 am

Have the option to move to Hong Kong or Singapore with hubbys work. We have a 6mth old and intend to grow our family in the next year or so......I know they are completely different offerings, but can anyone out there comment on bringing up kids in HK vs. Singapore??

We live on Sydney's northern beaches so hope to be able to enjoy as much of the outdoors as possible - can one enjoy walks etc. with the humid climate? Despite the frenetic pace of HK, I gather it is easy to escape into the country parks.

Also, what are the prefered expat areas for family

Cheers very muchly

The pollution in Hong Kong is terrible...choose Singapore for a family!!!!
(I used to live in HK with 2 kids...they were constantly sick with respiratory infections.) There is more for kids to do inSingapore, as well.

I think you used to be able to, but now it is only marginally better. I have a friend who just moved there from Tokyo. Many times she can't see the house across the street! And she IS on the Sside of the island!
