Expats Contacts Needed

Post by New Kid On the Block » Wed, 20 Apr 2005 1:49 pm

Hi All My Friends out there,

I plan to set up a company specialising in tax planning for busy professional, high net-worth and businessmen expat clients (like Indonesians, Japanese, Americans, Europeans, Mainland Chinese etc). My firm besides doing tax computation will be emphasising on tax planning issues-i.e optimising income flows through effective tax planning.

I need people who have contacts of these expats who need tax planning advices. If you managed to do a successful recommendation, a commission will be payable based on a certain percentage of the bill.

If you are a person who has a wide social circle and mixes frequently among busy professional, high net-worth and businessmen expatriates, I need your valuable contacts. It is a win-win situation!

Please respond!

Yours faithfully;

Gee, kid... most people I know appreciate discretion and privacy when it comes to tax and income matters. Yet, you didn't even register. IF I had information for you, I'd have to post it in the forum, and I wouldn't do that. I'll bet nobody else will, either.

Hi Strong Eagle,

Come on, I was expecting that if there was a positive response, the respondent would ask for my personal email address or give his/her personal email address so that we can further discuss from there. What confidential information could possibly be leaked??

So do you have any contacts?? Please help.

If I had contacts, I would want to PM you privately. I would not want to post here, for god and all to see, that I have contacts for you. It's not private and it's not how I do things.

PS: I don't have contacts.

PSS: I'll bet anyone that does have contacts will only contact you privately.

One thing you should know is that names and contact information of expats is a bustling business in Singapore, and lots of people pay well for contact information. This includes all sorts of investment bankers, insurance agents, and financial services guys who think expats have dollars that can be managed/spent/invested... for a profit, of course.

Expat names are culled from all over the place. You might leave a card at a restaurant... chances are good that it will be scoffed up and sold to a list firm by one of the workers. Same thing with handing out cards at a bar... or a drawing... if it looks like an expat card, it will end up on somebody's list... which is for sale.

I would never provide a name of an expat (or anybody else for that matter) to a person who want to solicit business from them, especially a person that I don't know. It would piss me off for someone to hand you my name and contact information, I can tell you, especially if done without my permission.

And those who would provide you with that contact information? Well, they want money.

Good luck.
