Which school/condo

Post by JBloggs » Wed, 20 Apr 2005 10:18 am

Hi there, we are looking at moving to Spore from Kuala Lumpur in early July this year. We have a four year old son (almost five) whom is currently at a local preschool. We will need to put him into Int School and had a preview online of Australia, Canadian schools. We are from New Zealand so either type of education is possible - American, English or Australian (NZ). Maybe Montessori (he initially started with this system in NZ) but has been in mainstream for the past year. My husband will be working in the Tampines area. We will not have car so need to use MRT/LRT's everywhere. The question is: Is it best to live by school (i will also look for ESL teaching job part time) or live by husbands work??? Is it a drama to get two trains to Tampines if living in BRishon area or Clemeti/Dover. Appreciate your help. Which school would you recomend based on our needs. Do you know of any good condos that are three bedroom, spacious, light, cost no more S$3000 and has lots for kids. Yes, i know i am asking for the world. Thanks anyway.

If you’re planning to send your child to the Australian International School, you could choose to live in Bishan and hubby travel by bus to Tampines
(SBS Service No. 53

or you could live somewhere in between e.g. condos next to MRT stations on the east-bound line:
* Astoria Park, Kembangan MRT station
* Central Grove, Aljunied MRT station

Thanks for your help. I had a look at the bus map that goes to Changi airport and it seems to by pass Tampines. I will look again. Are these Air con or open windows. Is it possible to get Taxis easy out of town areas?

Almost all the buses are air-con, except for a few routes e.g. bus service 93 is aometime non-aircon.
