Hi everyone,
Curious to hear how others handle office cleaning and hygiene—especially with shared workspaces becoming more common again. Also wondering if anyone uses eco-friendly or organic cleaning products and if they’ve been effective for office use.

I developed a paper allergy early in my career, and by the end I had virtually nothing but my laptop. My desk only had a docking station and a monitor. My desk drawers were mostly empty, just leftover materials from training sessions. When I resigned at the end of last year and moved out of the office, I didn’t even bring a box of stuff, just one manilla envelope with certificates and photos.

We have a cleaning lady who does all the office cleaning including desks, but I'll keep a pack of wet wipes and wipe down everything (desk) before the start of the day. I don't use anything eco as they're more expensive so I just get the cheapest I can find.

So similar to me although I started right in the laptop era in the early 2000s. So all I ever have on my desk is monitors and my laptop. Drawers and lockers - water bottle, extra mouse and whatever other stuff comes standard with a new laptop that I wouldn't use. Oh and tissue packs - part of the Singapore assimilation kit.... To chope tables at lunch.

A clean workspace leads to a clear mind for me. I spend 5 minutes daily tidying up (put things back, wipe surfaces, and toss any trash), using a microfiber cloth with diluted rubbing alcohol or disinfecting wipes for surfaces. Every Friday, I declutter by discarding items not used weekly, keeping only essentials on my desk. I also add plants, good lighting, and a functional to-do list to improve productivity. Does anyone else have a routine that works for them?

Deep cleaning an office is a significant responsibility for professional cleaners, as it not only ensures a clean environment but also enhances the well-being of those who work there. To achieve the best results, it is advisable to contact experts in the field of cleaning industry.

Doing cleaning as your daily habit helps keep your office tidy and well-maintained. If possible you may need a professional cleaner to do the job.

That sounds like a good routine to keep things extra fresh! Wiping down your desk before the day starts adds that extra layer of cleanliness. As for the cleaning products, I totally get going for the cheaper options, especially if you're keeping up with it regularly. Just make sure whatever you're using is effective enough to get rid of germs and dirt, even if it's not eco-friendly. It’s all about finding what works best for you and your budget!
