Post by uzigrill » Fri, 15 Aug 2025 3:28 pm

Hello everyone,

I would appreciate your advice?
When should I apply for PR, immediately after receiving six pay slips, or only after I have paid my taxes next year? How would you assess my chances given that I am of the "others" race?

24year old, caucasian (ang mo), german citizen
graduated from NUS with masters degree ( cost me SGD 55k tuition fees)
now secured a job on employment pass
salary SGD 10,000 per month
living in Singapore since 12 months
sector is normal mechanical engineering. nothing no special talent like AI or Semicon
single no family members or wife or spouse is PR or SC.

Low due racial quota, marital status, too short stay in SG.

I was a 24yo caucasian when I first moved to Singapore and it was extremely tough to even get an EP (rejected twice) and at age 26 my PR application was also rejected. This was back in the 1990’s when things were easier.

Stay long enough and you’ll probably meet a local lass and marry her… then you’ll have a much easier time.
