3 weeks’ jail for man who molested stewardess on SIA flight

This guy a 20 year old student studying in Australia, molested a stewardess on SIA flight, got 3 weeks jail.

I have read several cases on Indian expats in the news for molestation cases and few of them on airlines.

I remember in recent days just before I left Singapore, they started making announcements in MRT about molestation being a serious offense.

Molestation is probably the silliest way to your name into criminal records. Imagine this guy, he has nothing to do with Singapore, studies in Australia but his whole life is scarred. Also if you see the chronology of events, the crime was committed on 28th Feb and he was convicted on May 14th. So even though it feels like a light sentence of 3 weeks, imagine the trauma suffered by this person for this duration of time, I am guessing he was in custody in Singapore.

I think there should be some better way to warn people especially Indian expats to not commit this crime, it is simply not worth it.

Agree, sounds like a stupid crime he's committed. Maybe he's gotten away in other country, hence trying in Singapore. Maybe he'll get banned coming to Singapore and not sure if the school will expel him for bad behaviour..

India has an image problem. Negative news gets around quickly and amplified. Many people then avoid travelling to India. Or they have a bad impression of Indians and that will affect how they deal with them.

Such incidents just reinforce people's opinions about India and Indians unfortunately.

I understand from a man who knows one every well that some of the FA wear padding on certain areas (buttocks he mentioned). So that guy probably molested some foam rubber.
