SC Application for PTS SPR :National Service Status

Post by RajiRaj » Sun, 08 Jun 2025 3:28 pm

hi wise tribe,

While going through the Singapore Citizenship Application, as a 1st generation SPR granted under PTS scheme( after me and my wife both were 40+ ), what should we fill in "National Service status" section for both me and my wife ( SPR from same duration and simmiler age 40+)
there are 4 options
1. Not Applicable
2. Completed full time NS [ offcourse this is not the option for us ]
3. Currently Serving. [ this also ruled out ]
4. EXEMPTED [ then we need to fill the reason ]
If we have to select 4th option then what should be the appropriate reason to give for both male and female SPR ?

EXEMPTED - https://www.mfa.gov.sg/

*Male applicants who are granted PR status under the Professionals/Technical Personnel and Skilled Workers Scheme or the Investor Scheme are exempted from NS.

Did you really have to ask this in 3 separate threads?

You’re a 1st gen PR, and as such you are not required to do NS. Ergo, NS is not applicable to you.

You choose “exempted” as an option when you’re required to do NS but have been exempted by MINDEF for one reason or another (usually medical).
