RENTAL TRAP 100 Robertson Quay

Post by rongxin.zhang » Sun, 18 May 2025 10:19 pm

I was the tenant of a unit, 100 Robertson Quayfor two years and recently moved out[/b].

Deposit: I vacated the unit nearly 2 months ago, returned it in good condition, and had it professionally cleaned. Despite this, the landlord has not returned my security deposit, and no explanation has been given.

Unit Issues:
  • The air-conditioning regularly trips the circuit breaker, requiring you to reset it from outside the unit.
  • All major appliances (dryer, washer, oven, dishwasher) were broken at move-in. The landlord refused to replace them with new items. The current dryer is 2nd-hand, pumps hot, dirty air into the unit, and must be manually drained.
  • The toilets do not flush properly as it uses old pumps.
Landlord / Agent Issues
  • The landlord and agent refused to repair broken appliances throughout the tenancy.
  • No direct contact with the landlord was provided. All communication was through XX and “XXX” who claimed to be her daughter. The Landlord uses a false address in government records.
  • Some tenancy documents appeared to have forged signatures.

Hope you've managed to resolve this issue with the landlord. What's the outcome?
