Anyone in SG with 5+ Cats in a Condo Registered Under the New AVS Rules Yet?

Post by adrienk » Thu, 15 May 2025 10:04 pm

I live in a condo and have five cats, all acquired before the new pet ownership rules kicked in on Sept 1, 2024. Under the transition period (until Aug 31, 2026), we can keep existing cats above the 3-cat limit for private housing if they’re microchipped and licensed with AVS.

I’m planning to start the licensing process soon but wanted to hear from others in a similar situation:
  • Have you registered your cats with AVS yet?
  • How was the process (e.g., microchipping, licensing, any hiccups)?
  • Any tips for managing multiple cats under the new rules, especially in condos?
  • Did you face any issues with your condo management or AVS about the number of cats?
I’m a bit worried about the paperwork and ensuring everything’s in order before the deadline. Would love to hear your experiences or advice! Thanks!
