LTVP by PR wife

Post by KKJJ » Thu, 15 May 2025 4:15 pm

appreciate if you could advise me.
I have been PR for almost 25 years since I was young as my parents are PR back then as well.
My sibling brother is SC for 3 years already.
I applied for SC but rejected for the first time ( never tried after)
Now I want to apply LTVP for my husband who has been working in SG for almost 3 years (Spass) and we married last 2 years ago.
Is there any chance that he will be guaranteed to get LTVP from your experience?
No kid and I also have permanent job for 7 years now.
I want to apply LTVP for him is because of nowadays hard to get working quota in most companies.
Both of our salary SGD 4K + monthly.
Thanks in advance.

Not enough info. You didn’t mention age, nationality, race, any criminal record, industry, housing, education, etc. for both yourself and your spouse.

Many factors are at play even though your income seems sufficient to support yourself and spouse.

I am 32 and my husband is 41. We are both from Myanmar. No criminal record or bankruptcy. Housing is zero as we could not afford to buy condo and HDB is not eligible to buy under me alone. I am Bachelor degree holder from London and his education also Bachelor degree from Myanmar. We are staying together at my parents owned house which is 4 room and above HDB.
Thanks for your reply.

Nationality might be a disadvantage. You can certainly try and hope for the best but be prepared for rejection.

I believe the decision on LTVP will be more about income (ability for you to support both of you now, on your income alone, without the husband working). I don’t believe evaluation of LTVP uses the same criteria as PR. I’m sure someone will correct me if I am wrong about this.

thanks for sharing your view. I hope my basic salary 4k per month seems enough for ICA to decide.Additionally I am staying in Parents owned HDB. Meanwhile, I know my nationality is not in favour.

In cases of sham marriages (does not apply to OP), they can scrutinise the spouse’s nationality even if the sponsor is earning enough. Some sham marriages still slip through though.

This article from 2020 has a SC wife with a South African husband whose LTVP application keeps getting denied despite the SC being employed…
