Understanding reason of SC rejection

Post by D12746772 » Fri, 02 May 2025 8:26 am

Hi all,

Just trying to get some insights on our recent rejected SC application.

We are a PR couple, with 2 daughters (5yo and 1yo) and 1 son (3yo).

My wife and I have been living in Singapore for past 7-8 years, have been PR since 2019. The children, being Australian citizens, have obtained PR ~1 year after birth.

I am an Australian Chinese and my wife is an American citizen with North Asian ethnicity. We are in our 30s, working in financial services with a combined monthly income of ~30k.

Recently my wife applied for SC with the 3 children but was met with a rejection within 2 months.

What could be the reason for such a quick rejection? Was it mainly due to the fact that I wasn't part of the application?

Many thanks in advance.

You should apply as a family which means giving up your Aussie citizenship.

There's no real upside to SC in your situation IMHO.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

Applied SC for the nth time
Dad, Mum & Daughter all PR since 2008

Last application: March 2024
Outcome: REJECTED AGAIN

Family of 4: M44 PR, Wife 44 PR , PR daughter Poly graduate, youngest son Sec4 - still Student pass (for no reason , they keep rejecting his PR application)

After much hope and effort , this result has been disheartening.
This last rejection has left us emotionally drained and we've reached a point where we feel we can no longer keep trying. If really no chance of becoming citizens as family at least give a chance to my son as permanent resident pleassseeeee!
