Housing Policy in Singapore

Post by abbby » Thu, 06 Mar 2025 9:34 am

What do you think would be the next housing policy to cool the demand?

I noticed new condo launches are selling like crazy and prime HDBs are going for close to $2m soon.

Yeah, prices are getting wild — even resale HDBs in mature estates are creeping past $1M regularly now.

My guess is they might tighten loan limits again or adjust the ABSD (Additional Buyer’s Stamp Duty) further, especially for foreigners or those buying second properties. Maybe even more cooling on the developer side, like fewer en-bloc approvals or limits on launching smaller units at premium prices.

That said, demand still seems super strong, especially with all the new citizens/PRs and limited supply in certain areas.
