Filling up PR Formalities myself with no appointment

Post by wangxin » Sat, 22 Feb 2025 12:14 am

Hi , I applied for PR after 26 June 2024 and got the IPA approval letter on Jan 24 but I did not know that I was supposed to book appointment for formalities and filled the formalities myself online. Now when I tried to book the appointment, it stated invalid Application ID. Has anyone experience this before ? Is there anything I can do such as walk in ?

Email them and ask them what to do next.

How long has it been? You would have been sent an auto generated email stating their SLA to respond to your query.

The instructions are in the IPA letter provided.

What did you mean when you said you filled up the formalities online?
I do not remember that there is such a thing.

The new ePR system allows you to accomplish these things online:
  • Medishield Declaration
  • Upload Medical Exam Results
  • Initial Re-Entry Permit Application
  • Upload Passport-sized Photo
(I'm sorry if I forgot the 5th one if there is)

After you do this, you are told by the system to wait for 10 working days.

Also the IPA later that came to the system looks very basic; it just tells you got an IPA with some reference number and the IPA expires after 2 months. So we presume that after 10 working days, ICA will email us what to do next, give us an appointment slot, and the ePR will somehow change status.

Maybe it changed. I did my daughter's PR formalities last year, and in the IPA letter it mentioned to do an e-appointment for the formalities with the link provided. OP can request for an extension if the IPA expiry date is near.

Hi Everyone. Coming back to this Forum. It appears that ICA did have an issue as they put the ePR system on maintenance yesterday.

I was finally able to get past the "upload deliverables and wait 10 working days page" and they asked payment of $120. After paying this, I was issued a new letter with a barcode to come to the new ICA building (the barcode probably contains the appointment info). I have the feeling the new approved applicants will all be booked April onwards due to this.

They also extended the IPA for 3 more months.

The document checklist of the new appointment letter seems shorter compared to the old process. We don't have to submit EP152 anymore (this was never brought up in the entire process) and they only require the letter (print or digital), your passport and whatever Pass Card you have right now. To be safe, I'd simply also bring the actual documents of what I've uploaded during my application.

Thank you @RikkuG for providing this update.

1. Did you receive an email from the ICA to proceed to make the payment? Or did you simply see the screen where you need to make the payment?
2. Was the letter auto generated immediately after you made the payment?

1. The payment page is in the same page after you check the status. Prior to this, I received the generic "there is an update" email. You can also pay in the same page.

2. After paying, you can download the appointment letter. I dunno if they extend the IPA by default. You can also reschedule if you wish.
