Question:The time required from receiving the PR IPA to the appointment date

Post by Maya_m » Tue, 18 Feb 2025 11:07 am

I have received the IPA through the new PR application system (after June 26, 2024) and have submitted all the required documents. How long does it usually take to receive a response for a final interview appointment? (I have already been waiting for more than 10 days.)

With the new system, I am unable to book an appointment ourselves, making it difficult to estimate the timeline for the next steps. If anyone has already gone through the process—from receiving the IPA to the appointment—under the new system, I would greatly appreciate any insights.

Even if you haven't used the new system, any information on the usual processing time would also be helpful as a reference.

Would it be better to email ICA to follow up? I would appreciate any advice on this.

I am in the same boat MayaM but mine is an approved citizenship application in the new system. Could you please update us here if you receive anything? It is coming up to 9 days now since I completed all the tasks but have not received an email. I will wait until tomorrow morning and if there is no update, I will write to the ICA.

Thank you for letting us know GP42. What update did you receive after 9 days?

May you please put in detail what happened when you got the update? :D I'm also on that 10 day waiting fence.

1. Did they give you a copy of EP152 to fill up by your employer?
2. Did they tell you what documents to bring in ICAB?

Thanks!

Gp42, did you get it after 9 calendar days or working days? I am assuming can't be working days because your PR IPA on 8 Feb? 9 calendar days would mean that you got it fairly quickly.

- I received the update after 9 working days.
- The update includes a more detailed version on IPA, including (i) an appointment at ICA building and (ii) what to bring to ICA.
- The IPA is for my child so no EP152

Thanks @gp42

Did the "things to bring" mention something along the lines of "hard copy of all what you've uploaded in the system"

It was for my child so only birth cert is required. But I remember for my PR formalities in the past, I needed to bring most hard copies of the official documents (birth cert, marriage cert, diploma).

Hi @Maya_m , may I know the exact date you submitted the PR application and the date you received the result? I am curious because I also submitted my application with the new system.

For more than 20 years, I've watched people ask question like, "When did you apply", "How long since you submitted...", "did they ask for", "when did the button disappear", "did you get an update", "what color were your shoes when you applied"... OK, maybe not that last one, but close... and the rest of the questions are just as useless as asking about shoes.

And over the last 20 years, I've not see one of these questions bear any relevance to what actually has happened to the poster asking the question. You get your answer when you get your answer. There is no crystal ball.

There is no relationship between what is happening to another applicant and what is happening to you. "Submit Docs" button went away for someone? So what? Another applicant got a letter in the mail? Big deal. What does that mean to you? Nothing. You're "Submit Docs" button will go away when the gahmen decides it should go away. They don't say, "Oh shit, we made Johnny's button go away, we better make Mary's button go away, too," because they've been asking about it on Singapore Expats.

Play this silly game, if you wish, but realize it gives you no real information and more often than not, creates additional stress as you wonder why another person gets their EP or their PR while you sit and wait.

There is NO RELATIONSHIP between the processing and wait times for you and anyone else. Do you go and check out everyone else's lotto tickets to see if they might have the winning number for the next Toto drawing?

The gahmen makes sure your application is filled out. The gahmen asks for additional information when they want it. The gahmen researches your background to whatever level they desire. The gahmen scores you one way or another, and no matter what you ask, they are never going to tell you what the scoring process is.

so, RELAX... you've spun the roulette wheel. You must wait until the white ball drops before you know if you've won or lost. Asking the croupier how long it takes the ball to fall will make no difference.
