Citizenship chances for a family with kids studying in international school

Post by Ganeshvaithi » Sun, 05 Jan 2025 2:37 pm

Hello, we are a family of 4 SPR holders with 2 boys. They both are studying in an International School. We are from India, M42 in Singapore since 2010 and F40 in Singapore since 2009. We are thinking of applying for citizenship. We got our PR in 2020. I am working in an global bank and my wife is part of Nets. Both of us belong to technology basically. While we are thinking of applying for citizenship, I am concerned whether kids studying in international school could cause trouble for getting citizenship here. Any experience or suggestions on this?
I would want to switch my kids to local school now, but my eldest is in the age of taking PSLE this year. That stops me from consider local school anymore.

Switching to local schools isn't mandatory for citizenship approval, but showing integration into Singaporean society, including local education or other community involvement, can strengthen your application. Since your eldest is approaching PSLE, it’s reasonable to avoid switching schools now, but you might highlight other ways your family contributes to and participates in Singaporean culture to offset this concern.
