Hi, I am not relatively sure about things I want so say but I hope someone can help me even the slightest.
I am from the UK, southern England, I am currently 17 yrs old (almost 18 yrs)
Rrecently I have been thinking of perhaps moving to singapore for permanent residence, to live with a friend there. I do not think I will be moving soon because I am currently studying in college, but If i was to still consider moving in the next 2 or 3 years, how would I go about it? I read up on many sites about conditions for PR application and am slightly confused.
I have no curent thoughts on what career I might take but accomodation with my friend is most certain.
Can anyone please tell me in a serious way how I might achieve becoming resident there based on just moving for living and obtaining money just for living there everyday. Please be sensitive if you reply, I don't want to feel belittled because of my age, I have thought about this quite a lot.
Thanks

Dear Doll,
Singpore severely restricts its immigration because there are not only people like you living in the UK who would like to live here, there are literally millions of poor people who would love to move here in order to have a chance at a better life. Obviously, if everybody came, such a small country would be completely overwhelmed, and thus, there are very specific requirements that must be met before you can come to live and work here.
One of the requirments is very easy. Do you have a lot of money? Will you invest some of it here? Then you will be welcomed.
If you have work experience and have skills that are demand, then a company can ask permission to have you work here IF they cannot find the skills locally. So for example, if you are a really great salesman, or perhaps a senior technician, then you might get in. If you have a diploma in computer science, and little or no experience, then it wil be much harder to get in because many locals and foreigners are the same.
The bottom line is that Singapore wants to let in people who are productive, pay taxes, and can create jobs for others (directly or indirectly).
My advice would be to complete your college education, preferably a technical degree, but something fer sure. Find companies in Singapore that do the kind of stuff you'd like to do. Go to work for them... or their competitors in England, the EU... whereever. Use that as a springboard to get over. Look at the companies doing business in China, and consider that as a way to get in.
Good luck.

Maybe...
Well, seeing it that way, I guess I won't be getting there anytime soon. Thanks for the overview of that career thing.
If I were to just visit the friend on like a vacation thing, would I require any kind of document to enter singapore then or would that be ok?
Also, would things be any different if someone was to marry a singaporean? would that change anything? Just a thought.. nothing more.

Currently EP holder. If I quit my job now and reapply for new job in the future does it make me harder to get pass?
