Is anyone familiar with the hiring process for foreign domestic workers (FDWs)? I understand that employment agencies (EAs) impose service charges if an employer seeks an FDW through their channel. Surprisingly, the FDW also has to pay a significant amount to their local agency in Myanmar to secure the job. This agent fee can be up to six months of their salary if they cannot make an upfront payment, meaning they have to work for six months without pay. I'm curious whether the amount paid by the employee benefits only the local agent in Myanmar or is shared between both agencies. I am conducting research on the hiring process and do not intend to hire any FDW. Thanks to anyone who can provide insights.
