Could someone help me rate my pr chance?

Post by Annie12321 » Sat, 31 Aug 2024 4:59 pm

I am a guy, almost 15 years old. 10+ years ago my parents got PR under Global Investor Program, and hence the whole family got the PR. I studied in SG for kindergarten.

However, my great grandma had some health issue so my parents went back home country, resulting in insufficient time spent in SG and hence got rejected in REP and hence renounced the PR. As my dad is the main sponsor, my PR got renounced as well as I was pretty young and I have to go back home country with them. My two sisters though, as they are almost 21 years old, they stayed in SG until 21 years old + and got PR renewed under themselves under without my dad's sponsorship. Lately they became SG citizen as they have been studying and working here.

I have wanted to come back SG to study but due to covid, I only came back early last year. I didn't get into government school as the AEIS exam is very competitive and I got into an International School, studying grade 8.

Now my parents are LTVP under the sponsorship of my sister who is a SG citizen. Given two of my sisters are citizen, my parents are LTVP, is there any chance for me to get a PR? I am willing to do NS and stay here for long.

Thank you for any insightful information in advance.

Hi everyone, I am a final year university student, Singaporean.

I want to apply for LTVP for my parents. Is it possible for me to apply LTVP for my parents before full time work? I will only start my full-time job after graduation (i.e. July 2021). Is the chance higher if I can provide a job offer letter? Or is it better for me to apply after starting on the full-time job?

Thank you!
Strange ‘cos your post from 2020 says you’re a Singaporean.

We have seen a lot of people on this board try to explain how their sick relatives back home were the reason for being absent from Singapore… but you need to know that sympathy does not factor into immigration decisions.

Applying for PR in Singapore is much like a pursuing a romantic relationship, with Singapore playing the hard to get, jealous and judgmental type.

A PR application is like you, down on one knee with a ring, pledging yourself to her and committing to one day seal the deal.

Any applicant must be patient and willing to accept rejections while continuing to impress/woo her, showing your loyalty, earning potential and how you’d contribute.

Any betrayal, real or perceived, has consequences. You can try to explain the situation, but can’t expect her to understand… just like any GF.

Wow love your description! You've said everything that needs to be said in an easier way of understanding.

I had a hearty chuckle at mal’s post.

Search the forum OP, I remember I came across a post that if you offer to serve NS, maybe PR could be reinstated. That’s a huge maybe. We cannot guarantee anything. It’ll be tough, maybe impossible.

No one knows.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!
