PR chances?

Post by popcornlover98 » Fri, 23 Aug 2024 7:44 pm

Age: 26
Ethnicity: Filipino
Place of Birth: Singapore
Parents applied for PR after 2005 and did not reapply (they didnt know they can apply again)

Went to all local schools (pri, sec, poly and uni). Took a tuition grant bond in poly and im required to work in Singapore for at least 3 years.

Applied 2x as a student pass holder while i was in poly. rejected twice after 9 months with no reason stated. I contacted a PR application agency and they told me i should contribute via taxes.

Currently on SPass (I was incredibly lucky and grateful to find an employer who believed in me). Now applying for PR once again.

May I ask you all - how are my chances? Thanks and I appreciate any advice. I honestly wish I could just skip the PR thing and go straight to citizenship. I don't speak filipino nor do I know the culture there. Singapore is my home, born and bred here :)

S-pass low chance in general. Get EP instead.

Or get married to a local. Prove marriage is stable then apply PR. Better chances if there is a baby or two.

Of course don’t get into a sham marriage or have a baby to get PR. Marriage and children are never guaranteed but improves chances.

Apparently Filipinos used to be able to identify as Malay race until word of it leaked out and caused a bit of an uproar here. Being an O in CMIO is really tough. If you were a Chinay, it would be a different story. You have a very tough road ahead… keep your chin up.

What do you work as? if it's something high demand in SG (like healthcare) it may be a plus, once you've worked a couple years.
Btw PR agencies have no insider info. Read what ICA has to say about them: https://www.ica.gov.sg/public-education ... l-entities
